Minutes of January 3, 2012

Chairman Jay Tomlin called the meeting to order at 9:00am

Present: Jay Tomlin, Tyler Sweet, Al Ruffner, Dick Evans, Sherry Meythaler, Lani Warren and Jan & Jim Jones.

Committee Reports:

BOD/Committee Chair - Jay Tomlin

• Jay’s opening comments, to bring us up to date on a few items, were:
• The new forward tees (silver) will be part of the new scorecard which will be printed by April.
• Mark Warren and Tyler are still developing the website software, so that in the future, Committee Chairs, Golf Captains and Pro Shop staff will be able to input their information directly to the web site. This will make it easier to manage and more timely in some cases.
• The Champion of Champions Tournament this year will be held on April 24-25 at the Home Course in Dupont, WA; it will include a Senior division for the first time, as well.

General Manager - Tyler Sweet

• Tyler said that the Golf Calendar is still being prepared, but will be completed by the end of January. He’s working on the “Fun Night” – indoor putting contest, with the Men’s Club. It is scheduled for Saturday, January 14 at 5 PM. The nine hole event will feature putting around the hallways and rooms of Sunland; should be lots of fun for members.

SWGA - Sherry Meythaler

• Sherry asked about the responsibilities of their member(s) that will help out for the Member Guest Tournament, as well as the Lady Niner’s role. Tyler will get them a list of things to do as we get closer to the tournament. Most of the tournaments have SWGA members assigned to them at this point..

Lady Niners - Lani Warren

• Lani said she is getting their group organized and is trying to recruit more members. The new forward tees should help.

Men's Club - Tyler for Fritz Field

• The Men’s Club is finalizing the details for the January 14, Fun Night – indoor putting contest and still working on the Member Guest Tournament.

Men's Niners - Al Rufner:

• Al is continuing to work on getting more members to play and hopes with the move to Tuesdays will encourage more participation.

Couple's - Jim and Jan Jones:

• Requested that the Couples Championship to be held on Monday/Tuesday, Sept. 17-18 vs the last week of September.

Twilight - Jim and Cheryl Coulter:

• No report

Handicap - Dick Evans (in absentia):

• Dick said he has been doing his “thing” with the scorecards and handicaps. Tyler noted that the charge for the GHIN handicap fee will be on January’s statement, which members will receive in February.

PNGA/WSGA-Carol Goodman & Cheryl Coulter:

• No report.

Rules - Witta Priester & Dick Baughn:

• No Report
